Make a T-shirt Quilt
(4 Part Class)
Part 1: April 1, 7-10 PM
Part 2: April 8, 7-10 PM
Part 3: April 15, 7-10 PM
Part 4: April 22, 7-10 PM
Turn those clothing memories into a snuggly memento! A t-shirt quilt makes a great gift for a special occasion. We’ll go through all the steps in creating your one-of-a kind quilt top from preparing the t-shirts, design, cutting fabric and sewing it all together. During the last session we’ll go through options for quilting and binding your quilt top.

This course presumes you know how to use your own sewing machine for basic straight stitching.

Four sessions: Wednesday evenings, 7 pm to 10 pm, April 1, 8, 15, 22

What you need to bring:

Your sewing machine

Your t-shirts (not cut up yet!)
-
5 m of lightweight fusible interfacing (such as Pellon FF911)
You don’t need fabric for the first session. We’ll start preparing the t-shirt blocks and discuss options for sashing and borders and how much fabric you will need for the quilt that you want to make.
Sewing for Baby (4 Part Class)
Part 1: April 2, 1-4 PM
Part 2: April 9, 1-4 PM
Part 3: April 16, 1-4 PM
Part 4: April 23, 1-4 PM
Make a bib, a burp cloth and a small quilt for the baby in your life.
Skills we will practise include ironing, cutting with a rotary cutter, using a pattern, stitching in straight and curved lines, topstitching as well as piecing, sandwiching, basting and quilting a quilt for baby.

This course presumes you know how to use your own sewing machine for basic straight stitching.

Four Sessions: Thursdays, 1 to 4 pm, four sessions, April 2, 9, 16, 23

Cost: $120

What to bring with you on the first day:
-Your sewing machine, along with bobbins and thread
.7 m of cute flannel (100% cotton) to make the burp cloth
At the first session we’ll discuss what materials you need to buy for the quilt, and that will depend on your choice of the designs shown.
